Math Resources
Our team at Clover Tutors is dedicated to helping students find ways to learn that works for them. Whether it's with our tutors, at school, or at home, it can be hard for students to decide where to start practicing subjects they struggle in. To aid our students, we've compiled a list of fun math activities to jump-start the learning process.
Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide & Fractions
- Addition Blocks: In this game, you add up the colorful numbers so they are equal to the gray number, but you have to do it before the number hits the ground!
- Balloon Pop Subtraction: In this math game, balloons will appear and it's up to you to follow along with the equation at the bottom of the screen to direct the bee with how many balloons to pop to get the right answer.
- Slide Multiplication: You can play this leveled game by consistently answering each multiplication question correctly.
- Splat Bounce: In this game, you must use your mouse to help Parker paint fun and colorful designs on the side of the building. You can get power-ups by answering division questions correctly.
- Shade the Parts to Complete the Model: Practice your fractions using visual representations by shading the model to represent the fraction shown on the screen.
Algebra & Geometry
Counting Money
- Peter Pig's Money Counter: In this interactive game, the goal is to practice identifying coins, counting money, and saving money. You even get to learn fun facts about the coins as you play!
- Balance Your Checking Account: This activity for teenagers is a great opportunity to practice writing checks. While it's easy to say checks aren't important, some places still require them, and balancing your checking account is always good to learn.
- Counting Coins Practice: Choose your level to test your knowledge on counting coins and making change in this interactive game.
- Order the Coins by their Values: This game is a great way for kids to learn the value of different coins by arranging them from greatest value to lowest value.
- It All Adds Up: Budgeting is an incredibly important skill and this game gives great tips on how to live within a budget, save money, and make good spending choices.
Math Puzzles
- Number Puzzle: In this activity, students have to find the value of x based on the information given.
- Printable Math Puzzles for Kids: This activity is great for kids who are just starting to learn math and use their problem-solving skills!
- Favorite Math Puzzles for Kids: This page has a list of fun activities students can try to get more comfortable with different math skills, it even offers hints and answers so students can see how their answers line up.
- Blockside Puzzle: Using the diagram shown on the page, students have to determine how to get the right answer in the least amount of moves, and then they can check the answer against their solution to see how they did.
- Angel Fish Turnaround: In this activity, students must use math and logic skills to rearrange the sticks to change the picture.
Statistics and Probability
- High School Statistics: Scatterplots: Khan Academy's statistics page offers lessons, quizzes, and tests to help students master probability and statistics
- SAT Snake Eyes: This game uses dice which can be a great tool to help students learn about probability. This particular activity is also a great way to practice for the SAT.
- Don't Quit!/Can't Stop: This card and dice game is designed to practice probability in a way that's entertaining.
- First Day Statistics Activity - Grouping Qualitative Data (PDF): This statistics activity is great for those who are new to learning statistics and helps to differentiate between qualitative and quantitative data.
- Standard Deviation and Mean: This page helps break down the concepts of deviation and mean so students have a better understanding of calculating statistics.
